Lower Elementary: K, 1, 2
The lower elementary levels blend Washington State public school learning objectives with a Christ-centered education. Students focus on foundational skills in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies, adhering to state standards for early literacy, phonics, basic math operations, and understanding the natural and social world. Alongside these academic goals, Zion School emphasizes spiritual growth, integrating biblical teachings, and fostering social-emotional development. Creativity, collaboration, problem-solving, and Christian values are central to preparing students for both academic success and a life rooted in faith.
Upper Elementary: 3, 4, 5
The upper elementary levels focus on advancing students’ academic and spiritual growth. The curriculum integrates core subjects such as reading, writing, math, science, and social studies with a Christ-centered approach, ensuring students receive a well-rounded education. In these grades, students develop stronger critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, while engaging in deeper exploration of academic content and biblical principles. In line with Washington State standards, students work toward proficiency in key areas such as reading comprehension, writing techniques, mathematical operations, scientific inquiry, and an understanding of historical and social perspectives. Zion School goes beyond state objectives by fostering spiritual growth, teaching students to apply Christian values in their daily lives, and preparing them to transition confidently into middle school, both academically and spiritually.
Middle School: 6, 7, 8
The middle school program offers a rigorous and well-rounded education that integrates Washington State public school standards with a Christ-centered approach. Students engage in advanced learning across core subjects, including literature, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and technology, meeting state objectives for critical thinking, problem-solving, and academic proficiency. The curriculum challenges students to deepen their understanding through analytical reading, complex writing assignments, algebraic reasoning, scientific exploration, and historical inquiry. In addition to academic rigor, Zion School places a strong emphasis on spiritual and character development, with biblical teachings woven into daily learning. Students are encouraged to apply Christian values as they collaborate, develop leadership skills, and grow in their faith. The program fosters independent learning, creativity, and resilience, preparing students for high school and equipping them with both the academic and spiritual tools for future success.
